Role and Environment
Are you interested in supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues? An incredible specialist school for children with Social and Emotional Mental Health Needs based in Maidenhead is looking for a bright and enthusiastic Mental Health Assistant to support the academic learning, emotional wellbeing and behaviour of these students. The SEN school is in Maidenhead and the role is full-time starting ASAP. The SEN children are aged 8 to 18 and require consistent, ongoing support to ensure they receive high-quality, child-centred care. The school employs a therapeutic approach and will offer training to the Mental Health Assistant appointed. Experience in a similar role would be desirable but not essential. Graduates in related fields (e.g., Psychology, Counselling, Criminology) are desirable as well.
Responsibilities
* Support academic learning, emotional wellbeing and behaviour of students with complex needs.
* Work alongside therapists, counsellors and psychologists on-site; mentored and shadow sessions available.
* Provide consistent, ongoing support to pupils to facilitate a high quality of care and child-centred support.
Profile / Qualifications
* Ideal for graduates in Psychology, Counselling, Criminology or related fields.
* Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
* Enthusiastic, caring and resilient with a willingness to work with Special Needs and Mental Health issues.
Details
Salary: £85 - £95 per day
Hours: Full-time, Mon-Fri 8:30am to 3:30pm
Location: Maidenhead
