About the Role
We have AMHP vacancies in the following teams:
Forensic Team (26-hour vacancy):
This role is within the Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland integrated Forensic Mental Health Service. The team offers community and low secure inpatient services, linking with both areas and national placements. The role is based at Herschel Prins Centre on the Glenfield hospital site in Leicester. Hybrid and flexible working arrangements can be discussed. The team includes AMHPs from Leicestershire and Leicester City, CPNs, Forensic Psychologists, Healthcare Support Workers, Occupational Therapists, and Consultant Forensic Psychiatrists/Associate Specialists. The successful candidate will participate in the Countywide AMHP rota and handle MHA 1983 considerations. Forensic experience is desirable but not essential as training and support are provided.
Mental Health Hospitals (37-hour vacancy):
This role involves managing a social worker caseload to assist individuals discharging from acute mental health wards, with a focus on strengths-based approaches aligned with the Care Act, Mental Health Act, and Mental Capacity Act. AMHP duties are part of the role, on a rota, once a week if full-time, twice a month if part-time.
Care Pathway (37-hour vacancy):
This role involves managing a caseload within Mental Health Locality and Reablement Teams, with AMHP duties on a rota, once a week if full-time, twice a month if part-time.
Please specify which team(s) you are interested in on your application. Travel outside Leicestershire and Rutland may be required occasionally, with prior agreement. A DBS enhanced check is required for this post.
About You
To apply, you must:
* Be a registered social worker, mental health nurse, occupational therapist, or clinical psychologist with approved mental health professional training.
* Have experience assessing complex needs in mental health, learning disability, brain injury, or older and disabled adults.
* Possess highly developed analytical skills, effective assessment and risk management experience, and person-centred, solution-focused, resource-efficient approaches.
* Have knowledge of social work methodologies, social care policies such as asset-based social work, and relevant legislation including The Care Act, Mental Health Act, and Mental Capacity Act.
* Be a confident communicator skilled in diplomacy, persuasion, assertiveness, and conflict management, able to build effective working relationships.
* Work proactively as an individual and as part of a team, knowing when to seek advice and support.
* Be able to supervise, coach, and mentor less experienced practitioners.
