What will you be doing?
As with all our volunteer roles, we're flexible in fitting responsibilities to individual strengths and availability. Here's an overview of the type of activity this trustee will be involved in.
Our board is made up of committed volunteers with expertise in engineering, fundraising, and community engagement. Due to the retirement of our previous trustee, we're looking for a someone to lead our environmental strategy and help us protect and enhance the canal's natural corridor.
This trustee will guide our approach to biodiversity, sustainability, and compliance — overseeing plans, policies, and partnerships that support wildlife and green space.
They'll work closely with local authorities and environmental bodies, commission studies, and help us respond to emerging initiatives like Biodiversity Net Gain and Nature Recovery Plans.
They'll also support our green and ground team volunteers to advise on our work party schedule, ensuring safe, coordinated activity across our sites.
This role is central to our vision of a thriving blue-green corridor — and offers the chance to shape lasting environmental impact.
