Job Description
The Criminal Lawyer will be responsible for:
3. Making independent decisions on whether cases should proceed or be discontinued
4. Advising police and investigators on evidential and legal issues
5. Preparing and presenting prosecution cases in the Magistrates' Court
6. Communicating decisions clearly to courts, police, witnesses and defendants
7. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary legal team
The Successful Applicant
You will be:
8. A qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a valid practising certificate (CILEx candidates with advocacy rights are also eligible)
9. Completed LPC / SQE / Bar Training or equivalent
10. Motivated, intellectually strong and committed to public service
11. Keen to develop advocacy skills and courtroom confidence
12. Comfortable making decisions and communicating them clearly
13. Ready to build criminal law expertise quickly with structured support
