Are you an experienced Health and Safety Manager looking to develop your career in a major paper product manufacturer based at our site in Ellesmere Port?
We are seeking a Health and Safety Manager to join our team to support H&S standards. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a NEBOSH Diploma and will actively participate in site H&S responsibilities.
You will work Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
About the Role
As the Health and Safety Manager, you will ensure that health and safety objectives at Northwood Consuma site in Ellesmere Port are achieved in compliance with Group Policies.
Responsibilities include:
1. Create an environment conducive to cultural change in Safety Performance.
2. Monitor safety audits to ensure they are completed on time and in full as per schedule.
3. Ensure all H&S training needs are met in conjunction with the training team.
4. Assist in setting up and creating a Site Safety Steering Committee and Safety Representatives.
5. Support the chairing of the monthly Safety Committee meetings.
6. Manage OH&S systems in liaison with the Group H&S Manager.
7. Support periodic management of Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work.
8. Ensure completion and management of Safety and Action Plans.
9. Ensure compliance with all safety legislation such as HASAWA 1974, PUWER, LOLER, etc.
10. Enforce adherence to safety rules and guidelines, leading by example.
11. Support investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses as necessary.
12. Provide weekly and monthly updates on H&S performance and activities.

Requirements
Essential:
* Excellent communicator with the ability to influence across all levels, managing both internal and external stakeholders effectively.
* At least 3 years of health and safety experience, preferably within manufacturing.
* NEBOSH Diploma.
Desirable:
* Experience with developing and working with SharePoint.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel.
