This multifaceted role involves countywide responsibility for recruiting, delivering, and coordinating training, as well as managing and supporting Norfolk Youth Justice Service (NYJS) volunteers.
You will promote volunteering across the county to ensure the volunteer workforce is representative, competent, and child-focused. This includes bi-annual recruitment to meet NYJS statutory responsibilities.
You will work closely with managers and practitioners across the county, ensuring consistency in recruitment, training, development, and deployment of volunteers in line with Youth Justice Board, National Standards, and Referral Order Guidance.
You will also lead the implementation of the NYJS Participation Strategy, ensuring service delivery reflects children’s views and is child-led. You will develop participation throughout the service, embedding it in daily practice and long-term strategy.
You will report to the Senior Leadership Team and Norfolk Youth Justice Management Board.
Enhanced DBS checks are required during recruitment. The role requires travel to various office locations and community venues across the county. A flexible working approach is necessary, including some evenings and occasional weekends.
