As a Senior Compliance Manager – Regulatory Developments, you will play a crucial role in managing regulatory risk and providing expert advice on the regulatory environment. Your work will directly support our mission by ensuring that we meet our regulatory accountabilities and maintain the highest standards of compliance. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a team that drives the regulatory agenda and supports the entire insurance business within the BGUK Market Unit.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide professional and practical compliance advice to business functions, supporting ongoing compliance through the implementation of regulatory change.
2. Offer robust challenge and oversight to new initiatives, major projects, regulatory changes, and large remediation exercises.
3. Develop a comprehensive understanding of business operations to enable effective engagement and support.
4. Maintain a detailed understanding of current and future regulatory themes and industry best practices.
5. Lead and support colleagues within Risk and Compliance on regulatory developments, ensuring effective handover and collaboration.
6. Contribute to the enhancement of the insurance business risk management framework.
7. Raise awareness and improve understanding of regulatory requirements through training and communication programmes.
8. Support the Regulatory Compliance Director Insurance and senior management team in embedding a strong compliance and conduct culture.
9. Deputise for the Head of Regulatory Developments as needed, attending senior committees and programme boards.
10. Maintain the PRA rules map and ensure timely communication to the Controls and Standards team.
What We’re Looking For
11. Significant experience in an FCA regulatory advisory role.
12. Strong knowledge of the FCA handbook and regulatory expectations.
13. Proven ability to generate recommendations that improve business processes.
14. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
15. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple business stakeholders.
16. Practical experience in developing and implementing business risk and regulatory policies.
17. Educated to degree level preferred but not essential.
18. Self-starter with the ability to plan and work on own initiative.
