Clinical Development Fellowships (CDFs) – Frailty
Full time (40 hours per week)
For a period of 12 months (fixed term)
Salary Scale - £45,504 - £71,550 per annum (pro rata if part time)
Applications are invited from trainee doctors who have completed UK Foundation Programmes to apply for the positions of Frailty Clinical Development Fellows (CDF).
These exciting posts offer working in the Ageing and Health Department at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. NHS Forth Valley has previously completed a National Frailty Collaborative working in partnership with other health boards in Scotland and Healthcare Improvement Scotland to develop services to improve outcomes and experience for older people living with frailty presenting to acute services. We are continuing to build on this work to further develop and improve services for older people including the establishment of our Acute Frailty Unit in the acute admissions unit and expanding the Hospital at Home Service.
The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to be an integral part of this work along will all other aspects of the care of frail older people that the service delivers. This will be supported through dedicated development time across the year. Clinical work will comprise working across our Acute Frailty Unit and Hospital at Home. Successful candidates will gain experience in comprehensive geriatric assessment in a variety of settings, delirium, orthogeriatric, movement disorders, palliative care and management of co-morbidities.
There will also be dedicated in-house teaching time afforded for the successful applicant each week. Further, there will be the opportunity to engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
