The Role At a Glance

Buying Assistant - Global Retailer

Location: Watford, Hertfordshire (Office Based)

Salary: £34,112 DOE

Plus: Excellent Benefits Package

Position: Full Time - 40 hours per week


The Buying Assistant Overview

* Enter and update computer records and produce reports for buying staff.
* Review department inventory reports weekly, track item replenishment and purchase orders.
* Send and track vendor contracts, advertisement, and logo agreements.
* Communicate with regional offices, vendors, and members to gather information and resolve issues.


Main Duties Include


Buying Assistant Daily Tasks and Responsibilities:

* Set up item and vendor records by entering information into the computer.
* Update records for changes in price, terms, descriptions, addresses; input figures for weekly department recap.
* Review inventory reports weekly, check for zero or negative sales, follow up with warehouse on stock issues, and track initial stock orders for new locations.
* Manage and track replenishment and purchase orders to ensure smooth flow of goods.
* Mail out vendor contracts and agreements, track for signatures and return.
* Coordinate with regional buying offices, depots, warehouses, vendors, and members to gather and relay information.
* Assist Buyers in merchandising projects as needed.
* Transport sample merchandise within the department.
* Support other departmental and company areas as necessary.


Buying Assistant Skills Required

* Degree education preferred.
* Excellent numeracy skills essential.
* Strong written and spoken English, good negotiation skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, internet, and email.
