Job responsibilities
The WardSister/Charge Nurse plays a key role in the provision of specialist palliativeand supportive care, putting patients and their families first and going theextra mile to deliver first-class care. The role is an integral part of themulti-disciplinary team, working collaboratively with other healthcareproviders to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.
Responsibilitiesinclude supporting the team to meet the hospices aims and objectives withinthe policy framework, and carrying out clinical, managerial, and educationalduties in accordance with hospice policies, procedures, and standards, and theNMC Code.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* The Ward Sister/Charge Nurse will have:
* - 1st level Registration or Diploma level.
* - 1st Level Registration with NMC.
* - Evidence of further accredited learning relevant to field of palliative care of long term conditions.
* - Accredited assessor qualification.
* - A 1st Level degree or working towards this.
* - Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Experience
* The Ward Sister/Charge Nurse will be able to:
* - Demonstrate an interest in specialist Palliative care.
* - Use their own initiative.
* - Work well under pressure.
* - Display a kind, emphatic and person-centred approach.
* - Work as a team player.
