Felix House is a 24 hour residential nursing service for 11 adults with enduring mental health and support needs.
At Felix House we support people to manage and maintain their mental health and wellbeing, and learn skills required to regain their independence and empower them to move on to more independent accommodation.
Flexibility is a must, as you will be working a variety of shifts, which will include days, waking nights and sleep-ins, to ensure the consistent, high quality care of the people we support. Experience within the sector is desirable but not essential, as we will provide you with training required to carry out your duties. As a Support Worker you will ensure that the people we support are at the centre of their support package. You will also support them in developing and maintaining relationships with family and friends, and accessing external programmes and activities, such as bush craft, job skills, volunteering, assertiveness skills and art and woodwork classes.
Supporting with administering medication is a requirement of this role so a willingness to undertake medication competency training is essential.
The successful Support Worker will have a caring manner and a tolerant nature, be able to work proactively, both collaboratively with the team and lone working, while supporting the people to meet their goals and aspirations in the community setting
You will have excellent communication skills, emotional intelligence and maturity and will be willing to engage in training and learning to support the development of yourself and those around you.
