The department in Hull Royal Infirmary operates a subspecialist system of reporting serviced by teams of consultants. We invite applications from newly qualified consultants and those in their mid careers looking for the opportunity to develop their subspecialist interests in more than one area.
All areas of expertise will be considered. We can accommodate a combination of specialist interests in Gynaecology pathology, gastrointestinal (including pancreas), skin, head and neck, breast and urological pathology and non‑gynaecological cytology.
The department has successfully introduced an in-house molecular testing service to support lung cancer, colorectal cancer and melanoma diagnostic pathways and has a strong dissection team supporting all of the specialties.
SHYPS is in partnership with the National Pathology Imaging Co‑operative (NPIC) and seeks to implement and deploy digital pathology in the very near future.
