An exciting opportunity has arisen within our practice at Stodarts LLP for a Legal Secretary to join our highly regarded team. Stodarts have been providing expert legal advice in the Lanarkshire area for over 100 years and pride ourselves on offering an inviting workplace with a friendly, approachable ethos. We strive to provide high quality legal services with a personal, friendly approach with our staff at the forefront.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated legal secretary to assist our solicitors with a caseload consisting principally of conveyancing, family law and private client work.

Previous legal experience is preferred but not essential. Full training will be given.

We will not consider for this role an Applicant with a LLB, Diploma or equivalent and/or those seeking Legal Traineeship, internship or work experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Audio Typing of Solicitors' letters and emails, Reports, Registers of Scotland applications and Court forms from digital dictation.
* Handling incoming/outgoing telephone calls.
* Manage incoming and outgoing channels of communication, Post Office, DX, email inbox, fax and electronic portals.
* Day to day management of appointments.
* General office duties - filing, maintaining file system
* Assisting with Anti Money Laundering checks

KEY SKILLS

* Accurate audio typing from digital dictation.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Competent in using Microsoft Office packages, including Office 365.
* Ability to work alone with minimum supervision.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills.
* Knowledge of filing and maintaining diary system.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Sound knowledge of need for confidentiality and Data Protection awareness.
