Are you a passionate and engaging Teacher of Religious Studies with a desire to inspire young men to explore the big questions of life, faith, and spirituality within a Catholic context? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual, including Early Career Teachers (ECTs), to join our supportive RE department in a high-achieving Catholic boys' school in Hillingdon.

About the School:

Our school is a welcoming and inclusive learning community where students are encouraged to develop their spiritual, moral, social, and cultural understanding. We provide a nurturing and supportive environment where students can explore their own beliefs and values, engage with the Catholic faith, and develop their understanding of the role of religion in the world.

About the RE Department:

The RE department is a collaborative and reflective team with a shared commitment to fostering students' spiritual growth, ethical awareness, and understanding of religious diversity. We offer a stimulating and engaging curriculum that explores a range of religious traditions, beliefs, and practices, with a particular focus on the Catholic faith.

About the Role:

* Teach Religious Education across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 depending on experience and interest.
* Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
* Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including discussions, debates, guest speakers, and visits to places of worship, to bring RE to life for students.
* Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
* Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our RE curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
* Foster an appreciation of different religions and worldviews in students, encouraging them to develop their own beliefs and values in a respectful and tolerant manner.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
* Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in RE education. For ECTs, we offer a comprehensive induction program and ongoing mentoring support.

Ideal Candidate:

* Holds QTS or equivalent.
* Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Religious Education.
* Demonstrates a passion for teaching RE and a commitment to student success.
* Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
* Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for RE.
* Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
* Is supportive of the school's Catholic ethos and values.

Benefits:

* Competitive salary (MPS/UPS + Outer London Weighting)
* Comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme and access to employee assistance programs.
* Excellent professional development opportunities, including a structured ECT induction program and opportunities for subject-specific training in RE.
* A supportive and collaborative working environment where your contributions are valued.
* Opportunities to contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and school events.
