A client within the Public Sector based in Devon is currently recruiting for a Technical Officer to join their Estates Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a facilities, building services, and estates management environment. The Role Key purpose of the role is to provide technical expertise and support to ensure the effective operation, maintenance, and improvement of buildings, systems, and infrastructure. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: • Monitoring and maintaining building services, equipment, and infrastructure. • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements. • Coordinating and supervising contractors and service providers. • Maintaining accurate records of assets, maintenance, and performance. • Supporting facilities projects and contributing technical advice to planning and delivery. • Contract management of corporate responsive repairs, compliance and servicing contracts, and allocated capital works projects. • Providing technical support regarding design, specification, and procurement for the authority’s projects, properties, and services. The Candidate To be considered for this role you will require: Educated to HNC/NVQ Level 4 in a relevant area of construction. Experience in building surveying, inspections, and repairs diagnosis. Experience in project and contract management including administration. Strong technical knowledge of building systems, health & safety, and CDM compliance. Access to a vehicle and ability to travel locally for site visits. The below skills would be beneficial for the role: • Experience with procurement and works specification for contracts. • Knowledge of Ground Maintenance and Cemetery Services. • Architectural and design ability including AutoCAD or other CAD/GIS systems. • Strong organisational, reporting, and communication skills. The client is looking to move quickly with this role and is offering £18 per hour Umbrella Inside IR35 (~£14.40 per hour PAYE).
