Senior Arable Operator
Location: Abingdon
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 DOE + Accommodation
The Job:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced arable operator to join our client's farming operation in Abingdon. The successful candidate will operate modern machinery such as tractors, telehandlers, and loading shovels. Key responsibilities include:
1. Performing drill and fertiliser applications
2. Carrying out cultivations
3. Assisting with crop harvesting
4. Maintaining accurate records of farming activities
5. Supporting environmental projects like hedge planting and sustainability schemes
This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on a family-run farm with a focus on sustainability and environmental practices. The candidate should have a strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality. The Candidate:
* Experience as a competent tractor driver
* Certificates in telehandler and/or loading shovels
* PA1 and PA2 spraying certificates
* Experience with drill and fertiliser applications
* Background in cultivations and farming operations
* Ability to perform repairs and maintenance on machinery
* Good communication and record-keeping skills
