We are pleased to advertise an internal opportunity for a Chef Manager at Paget Primary School. This is an exciting role for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality, nutritious meals and leading a small kitchen team within a busy primary school environment.
As Chef Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to‑day management of the school kitchen, ensuring that pupils receive healthy, balanced meals that meet all food safety and nutritional standards. You will lead the kitchen team, manage food preparation and service, and ensure efficient operation of the catering provision.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the day‑to‑day operations of the school kitchen and catering service
* Plan and prepare healthy, appealing menus that meet school food standards
* Manage food ordering, stock control, and kitchen budgets
* Ensure the highest standards of food hygiene, safety, and compliance
* Lead, motivate, and develop the catering team
* Promote a positive dining experience for students and staff
What You'll Need To Succeed
* Experience in a chef or catering management role
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Knowledge of food safety and school food standards
* A passion for providing healthy, nutritious meals for young people
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
