We are seeking a proactive and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospitality, culinary arts, and team management. The position involves overseeing daily restaurant activities, supporting the management team, and maintaining high standards of food safety and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily operations to ensure efficiency and excellent service delivery
* Supervise and motivate staff, including servers, kitchen personnel, and baristas, fostering a positive work environment
* Support food preparation and cooking processes to maintain quality standards
* Oversee food safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations
* Manage team schedules, organise shifts, and monitor staff performance
* Handle customer enquiries and resolve any issues promptly to enhance guest experience
* Assist in training new staff members in service procedures, food safety, and hospitality standards
* Contribute to menu planning by providing input on food presentation and culinary techniques
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen and dining areas
* Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and placing orders when necessary
Requirements
* Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality management with supervising experience preferred
* Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and food safety standards
* Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
* Previous experience in food production, serving, or kitchen roles is highly desirable
* Familiarity with culinary techniques and hospitality operations such as hotel or barista experience is advantageous
* Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
* Excellent communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
* Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required
