Draughtsperson / CAD Engineer (Setter Out) Location: Birmingham (Central) Hours: Full-time – 44 hours per week Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 5:00pm Friday: 7:30am – 4:00pm About Our Client Our client is a well-established and highly respected shopfitting and manufacturing business with over 150 years of history, specialising in bespoke, high-quality installations. They work with prestigious clientele, producing individually designed projects that incorporate hardwood joinery, architectural metalwork, and other specialist materials. They also manufacture bronze and stainless steel doors and frames to exacting specifications. The Role This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small but skilled team of Draughtspersons / Setter Outs. The successful candidate will work closely with the Assistant Works Manager to interpret technical drawings and 3D visuals from architects, producing detailed 2D/3D technical drawings using AutoCAD/Inventor for client approval. Once approved, you will prepare the necessary information for the manufacturing team, ensuring accuracy and quality at every stage. You’ll be involved in projects from concept through to completion, playing a key role in delivering exceptional results. Essential Requirements: Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role Proven experience designing for manufacture Knowledge of joinery and/or metalwork Understanding of manufacturing processes Ability to read architectural drawings and convert them into working documents Desirable Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD/Inventor Positive and proactive attitude Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks Previous hands-on joinery experience Reports to: Works Manager / Assistant Works Manager / Managing Director Benefits: Free on-site parking Pension scheme Life insurance 26 days holiday plus bank holidays (7 days allocated for Christmas & New Year closure)
