Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, analysing, and optimising mechanical systems and components, ensuring they meet safety, efficiency, and quality standards. Duties
* Develop and refine mechanical designs using CAD software such as SolidWorks and Schematics tools.
* Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues within mechanical systems and implement effective solutions.
* Utilise simulation software like Simulink and MATLAB to model system behaviours and optimise performance.
* Design and analyse control systems employing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and LabVIEW for automation purposes.
* Apply GD&T principles to ensure manufacturing precision and quality control of components.
* Create detailed technical documentation including schematics, system diagrams, and technical reports.
* Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems into larger projects and ensure compatibility with electrical and software components.
* Perform system design tasks, including component selection, stress analysis, and validation testing.
* Assist in troubleshooting operational issues by analysing data and conducting failure mode effects analysis (FMEA).
* Support continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating existing processes and proposing enhancements.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
* Proven experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks and CAD schematics.
* Strong knowledge of system design principles, GD&T standards, and mechanical component manufacturing processes.
* Proficiency in simulation tools including MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW, and experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
* Sound understanding of root cause analysis techniques for troubleshooting complex mechanical issues.
* Familiarity with mechanical knowledge encompassing materials selection, stress analysis, and tolerances.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system diagrams accurately.
* Experience with control systems integration using LabVIEW or similar platforms is desirable.
