Band 6 Occupational Therapist - Community Rehab - Luton - GBP28-GBP30/hour
We are looking for an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to support a dynamic Community Rehabilitation Service delivering assessment and intervention in patients' homes and other care settings across Luton. This is a full-time locum opportunity offering a manageable caseload, supportive team environment, and potential for contract extension beyond the initial 3-6 months.
Main Duties for the Occupational Therapist include:
* Providing occupational therapy assessments, treatment, and advice to patients in their own homes or community settings to promote independence and well-being.
* Assessing, planning, and evaluating care for a range of patients with varying needs, supporting safe discharge and improved quality of life.
* Developing and delivering individualised, patient-centered treatment plans, ensuring the involvement of patients and carers in goal setting and rehabilitation.
* Working autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
* Managing a diverse caseload efficiently, prioritising effectively based on clinical need and service demands.
* Using outcome measures to track therapy progress and adjust interventions accordingly.
* Delivering care in challenging environments, with occasional exposure to bodily fluids and aggression.
To Be Successful:
* HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist
* Previous experience in community rehabilitation, ideally including elderly care, discharge planning, falls prevention, or neurology.
* Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, patient-led environment.
* Able to use interpreters and alternative communication methods where needed to ensure effective patient engagement.
* Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can assist with this if needed)
* Right to work in the UK
