The trust has a newly refurbished 45m suite with Siemens Artis‑Q, Dyna CT, Cydar AI, IVUS and lithotripsy, and a 5‑bed radiology day unit where over 70% of vascular interventions are day cases. We have plans to open a brand‑new 79m hybrid IR theatre in 2026.
The Radiology Department delivers comprehensive imaging and interventional services to support a busy District General Hospital. We value wellbeing and a healthy work‑life balance and offer flexibility including hybrid roles and Home PACS access for remote reporting.
Job responsibilities
* Supported in development of new services and encouraged to pursue specific areas of interest.
* Take part in the non‑resident 1:6 interventional on‑call rota at Musgrove Park site.
* Collaborate with experienced Interventional Nurses and Radiographers to ensure smooth and efficient care during on‑call shifts.
* Involved in image‑guided biopsy and drainage lists.
* Support general vascular and aortic aneurysm MDTs, run an IR clinic and report on regional vascular imaging.
* Make a small contribution to general reporting to support the wider team.
* Play a key part in the Somerset and North Devon vascular network, supporting a population of over 800,000 across North Devon, Yeovil, Taunton and Somerset.
* Deliver emergency vascular procedures, aneurysm work and imaging at the Taunton site and handle elective referrals from Yeovil, providing day‑case angioplasties to North Devon.

Qualifications
* FRCR or equivalent
* Full GMC registration
* Radiology training CCT or CESR (CP) or within 6 months of AAC interview date
Desirable qualifications
* Interventional radiology subspecialty fellowship
Experience
* 3 years equivalent Interventional Radiology subspecialty training
* Vascular and non‑vascular IR training
* Broad training in general radiology
* Evidence of recent CME and reasonable training progression
* Experience in clinical audit or quality improvement
* Practices of evidence‑based medicine
Additional criteria
* Evidence of teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and ability to teach clinical skills in multidisciplinary settings.
* Willingness to contribute to department teaching and training needs.
* Ability to prioritise clinical need and work in a multi‑disciplinary team.
* Progression of career consistent with personal circumstances.
* Honesty and reliability.
* Flexibility, capable of adapting to changing circumstances.
* Clear communication in written and spoken English.
* Met professional health requirements.
* Ability to fulfil all duties of the post, including on‑call commitments.
* Demonstrated awareness of health care issues and NHS governance and resource constraints.
* Management or financial awareness and experience of committee work.
* Ability to lead development and management of a clinical area.
* Formal teaching/training diploma or course.
* Research experience, publications or presentations.
* Good clinical practice training.
* Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
Certificates and Sponsorship
* Applicants who require Skilled Worker sponsorship will be considered alongside all applications.
* From 6 April 2017, skilled worker applicants must present a criminal record certificate for each country of residence for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants are also subject to this requirement.
