About the Role
Be the person who helps a young person turn things around.
A specialist SEMH provision in Manchester is urgently seeking a committed and resilient Behaviour & Resilience Mentor to support secondary-aged pupils who need structure, guidance, and someone who genuinely believes in them.

Key Support Activities
* Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
* Build consistent, positive relationships with students who may display challenging behaviour.
* Use calm, structured de-escalation strategies to support emotional regulation.
* Work closely with teaching staff to adapt learning to meet individual needs.
* Support pupils at risk of exclusion or transitioning from alternative provision.
* Encourage resilience, accountability, and positive decision-making.
* Help create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
Qualifications & Experience
* Has experience supporting young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour.
* Is confident in behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
* Remains calm, patient, and composed under pressure.
* Has a background in education, youth work, care, sports coaching, or alternative provision.
* Is resilient, proactive, and genuinely committed to supporting young people.
* Is looking for a long-term opportunity with potential for permanent placement.
* Undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
* Provide satisfactory references.
* Demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
