About the role:
Job Coaches at Activate Learning support students of all abilities, coaching them towards permanent sustained employment.
You'll be helping learners with SEND on our employability programmes develop essential skills that they'll need to equip them for the workplace, and assessing and monitoring their progress as you work with them. Our Job Coaches are also ambassadors for young people with SEND, promoting their abilities and potential contribution to employers to arrange placement opportunities that match their abilities and potential.
You won't be providing this support alone, as you'll be working with faculty teams to arrange the training a student may need ahead of beginning their placement.
This is a fixed-term, full-time, position, working 37 hours per week during term time (0.88 FTE) at our Guildford College campus until July 2024.
What do you need to be a successful job coach at Activate Learning?
You will have significant experience of working with young people with SEND in a teaching or training environment and be able to break down and simplify job roles and to give clear and explicit instructions.
With excellent communications skills, you will also be able to build positive networks and relationships with others. Experience of working in an FE environment is desirable, but not required.
