Job Title: Multi Trade Operative (Carpentry Bias)

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Multi Trade Operative with a strong carpentry background to carry out responsive maintenance and environmental improvement works within occupied social housing properties across Swindon and Wiltshire.
This role focuses on improving ventilation, reducing condensation and mould, and completing associated minor repairs and finishing works to a high standard while delivering excellent customer service to residents.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out door undercutting to improve airflow and ventilation within properties
2. Install, replace, and block trickle vents in line with specification
3. Complete mould wash treatments safely and effectively
4. Undertake minor decoration works including making good surfaces after repairs
5. Diagnose and resolve minor maintenance issues within your skillset
6. Ensure all works are completed to a high standard and in line with health & safety regulations
7. Work in occupied properties, maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach
8. Accurately report completed works and any follow-on requirements to supervisors
Requirements
9. NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry/Joinery (minimum) – NVQ Level 3 desirable
10. Proven experience as a Multi Trade Operative or Maintenance Operative
11. Strong carpentry skills, particularly in door adjustments and ventilation works
12. Experience in social housing or occupied properties preferred
13. Ability to carry out basic decorating and making-good tasks
14. Good understanding of damp, mould, and ventilation principles
15. Full UK driving licence
16. Own tools essential
17. Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently
