You will be joining a well-established and highly respected Tier 1 civil engineering contractor with a strong track record of deliveringplex infrastructure and heavy civils projects. This multi-accredited and high-profile contractor has a strong pipeline of work across a multitude of different sectors and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. Theirmitment to delivering an exceptional standard of work has positioned them as a leader in the industry and, as part of their continued growth, they are actively seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

Your new role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in themercial management of civil engineering projects, with an initial scheme located in Stoke-on-Trent, supported from the Tamworth office on a hybrid basis.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Preparing cost plans, budgets, contracts and bills of quantities
2. Carrying out on-site measurements and reviewing drawings
3. Managing ongoing cost analysis, including maintenance and repair works
4. Preparing estimates and conducting feasibility studies
5. Evaluating subcontractor quotations and managing procurement processes
6. Preparing and agreeing variations, interim valuations and final accounts
7. Issuing payment certifications to subcontractors
8. Identifying and mitigatingmercial risks
9. Supporting dispute resolution with clear, evidenced documentation
10. Ensuring all activities meet quality, safety and environmental standards

This is a varied and dynamic role offering exposure to all aspects of projectmercial management within a collaborative team environment.

What you'll need to succeed

To excel in this role, you will bring:
11. Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar qualification) or experience equivalent
12. Proven working knowledge of NEC form of contract
13. Soundmercial awareness and numerical capability
14. Strong negotiation, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
15. Full UK driving licence and be willing to travel regionally.
