You will join our Building Structures department As our new Building Structures Team Leader, you will lead and inspire a talented team of structural engineers and technicians based in Southampton. The team has a long history of delivering significant building projects across a variety of sectors including education, healthcare, rail, defence, commercial and residential. The Southampton structures team forms an important part of our 170 strong UK Structures team and our wider multi-discipline Buildings offering in the South, which includes Civil Engineering, Building Services, Project Management, Sustainability, Acoustics, Façade, and other specialist services. It is Ramboll's ambition for our Southampton office to grow sustainably through a strong commitment to our strategy, as the partner for sustainable change, to increase our market share regionally, nationally and internationally. Your key tasks and responsibilities will involve: Develop and lead a team of Building Structural Engineers Raise the profile and reputation of Ramboll's building Structures offering in the South, the UK and internationally. Candidates will be expected to market our offering extensively via networking, business to business meetings, seminars, thought leadership and general business development Proactively lead and manage the team, providing excellent communication, supporting career development, ensuring staff retention, knowledge sharing and team working Ensuring technical excellence of the team, including high quality delivery of projects and innovative solutions Help to develop and promote Ramboll's multi-discipline capability in the local market Have responsibility for all aspects of implementing budgetary strategies, including fee bidding, profitable project delivery, working capital management, and forecasting for the team. For this role, we believe your starting point is: Educated to a degree level or equivalent in structural / civil engineering Chartered, with demonstratable experience at Associate structural engineer level or above. Proven track record in leading and managing all aspects of project delivery Forward thinking and passionate about digital design innovation and 'smart design' in increasingly digitalized construction arena High degree of technical competence with demonstrable appreciation of sustainable design A notable/growing profile and reputation as a high regarded, well liked and trusted building structures leader Proven ability to win business for the company. Understands the marketplace, the growth sectors and busy clients. Have knowledge of pipeline opportunities and the ability to help position Ramboll to win Ability to motivate and lead multidisciplinary professional teams Demonstration of aptitude for team leadership and ambition for senior leadership career progression Proven client focus and a demonstrable track record of winning repeat business with key clients Relevant experience and insight into one or more key sectors including education, healthcare, residential, commercial, science, or retrofit and reuse.
