Customer Service Officer – one permanent position and one 12-month temporary contract
North West Leicestershire District Council is an active council, working across our communities to help people and businesses thrive.
We are looking for two more people to join our Customer Services team; working in our Customer Centre in the Belvoir Centre in the heart of Coalville. You will be joining a busy and friendly team providing both face‑to‑face and telephone help to residents in the district, covering the full range of services that the Council provides. There may be the opportunity to work from home on a hybrid basis following your initial training and successful completion of your competency checks. There is also the potential to progress to a higher‑graded Customer Service Officer role, based on your capability where you would deal with customers’ financial matters such as council tax and benefits.
Ideally we are looking for someone who can talk to people at all levels, has effective listening and verbal and written communication skills. You must also be passionate about and able to deliver excellent customer service to everyone you talk to.
* 36.25 hours per week with an annual starting salary of £25,583 (2026 pay award pending)
* Agile working scheme with a combination of home and working from the office on a rota basis once training completed
* 34 days holiday (including bank holidays) increasing to 38 days after 5 years (full time equivalent and pro‑rata to length of contract)
