SCUK MI Operations Manager

Santander Consumer Finance UK (SCUK) is based in Redhill, Surrey, and provides motor finance to a network of dealerships throughout the United Kingdom.
We are currently looking for an MI Operations Manager to join our Operational Transformation & MI department. This role will drive the implementation and management of the MI transformation strategy across SCUK’s operations, involving managing a team of MI & Planning Managers who will control and develop the associated reporting solutions.
Please note this role is a hybrid role with at least [X] days a week in the Redhill office. Remote workers will not be considered.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Lead the automation of MI reporting and design and implement self-service BI tools to empower business users with real-time insights
2. Lead a team responsible for MI reporting, data automation, and process optimization, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and objectives
3. Oversee the development of dynamic dashboards in Power BI or similar tools
4. Develop automated data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes
5. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all MI and reporting outputs
6. Establish best practices for data governance, security, and regulatory compliance, specifically surrounding Consumer Duty and GDPR
7. Oversee the transition from manual spreadsheets to centralized, automated data models
8. Deal with or escalate any identified risks in relation to Santander Consumer risk policies
9. Ensure compliance with SCUK and San UK data and change governance frameworks
10. Represent Operational MI in various forums and support with insights for change programmes
11. Work with senior leaders to understand reporting needs and develop automated solutions
12. Act as the bridge between IT, operations, and business teams, ensuring alignment on reporting requirements
13. Provide training and upskilling to team members on data automation tools and techniques
14. Conduct thorough development and performance evaluations to maximize team potential and address areas for improvement
15. Identify opportunities for robotic process automation (RPA) or AI-driven automation in reporting
16. Adhere to our commitment to Consumer Duty, ensuring we put our customers’ needs first and set higher and clearer standards of consumer protection
What we’re looking for:
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills to develop strong methodologies and create sustainable reports
* Mastery of data visualization, with the ability to create clear and engaging visualizations to present data meaningfully
* Strong command of Microsoft Excel for data manipulation (Index, Match, VBA, complex formulas) and advanced database interrogation & programming skills
* Understanding of data security and compliance standards to protect data integrity and confidentiality
* Experience implementing control mechanisms to prevent data quality issues
* Ability to convey complex data structures, formulas, and findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders
* Proven grasp of data structures and databases, with experience handling large data volumes using SAS, SQL Server, and Business Objects
* Experience managing a skilled, high-functioning team with varied working methods, leveraging colleagues’ skillsets
* Ability to interpret strategic requirements and lead teams to successful completion
* Strong planning and organizational skills to manage workload effectively
* Attention to detail in identifying reporting errors, trends, and aesthetics within dashboards
