This is a really varied role where no day is ever the same.
You will support the children with everything they might need, from personal care to the home they live in.
Responsibilities include cooking, cleaning, driving children to school, helping with homework, managing medication, and attending health appointments. You will be available 24/7 to support them.
Working as part of a team, you will collaboratively update care plans, complete risk assessments, and ensure thorough handovers to maintain consistent care. You will also plan events, activities, and holidays, tailoring them to the children's interests and needs.
Our children can sometimes become dysregulated. We will provide training in de-escalation and behaviour management techniques such as Team Teach. Support for undertaking your Level 4 diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce and in-house Therapeutic training will also be provided. Mandatory training includes safeguarding, first aid, food hygiene, GDPR, and health & safety.
Our management team offers support through debriefs and supervision, fostering a supportive environment for staff.
In addition to your salary, you will earn £80 per sleep-in, potentially totaling £4,800 per year for five sleep-ins per month. A performance-related bonus is also available based on positive outcomes for children.
