Mechanical Test Engineer (Vehicles / Engines) 6829
Location: Nailsworth
Hours:
Monday to Thursday 7:30am – 4:30pm, Friday 7:30am – 2:00pm (40 hours per week) with occasional weekend work
Salary: £12.98 – £18.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
Key Responsibilities of a Mechanical Test Engineer
* Carry out vehicle testing and repair on specialist equipment
* Work with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and engines
* Support the service and after-sales team as required
* Attend customer sites for on-site testing, installation, and calibration when required
* Collaborate effectively within a small, skilled engineering team
* Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and quality control
Key Skills of a Mechanical Test Engineer
Essential:
* Mechanical or electrical engineering background
* Hands-on practical experience within an engineering or workshop environment
* Strong interest in technical systems and problem-solving
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites
Highly Advantageous:
* Experience working with engines
* Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
* Understanding of specialist vehicle systems
