Role: Technical Author Location: Arbroath, Scotland Reports to: VP Engineering We are seeking talented individuals to join our growing team! This is an exciting role within a rapidly developing and growing business which has an unrivalled reputation globally as a leading designer and manufacturer of high-speed automated machinery for the life science manufacturing sector. Working in a dedicated team of industry professionals you will create manuals and technical documentation for a range of special purpose machinery projects. What will a typical day look like? Create and maintain instruction manuals and technical documentation in accordance with legislation, machinery directives and quality standards Ensure documentation is clear and consistent for both external and internal customers Update and re-write existing documentation, when required Ensure documentation is kept up to date with engineering changes using document control procedures Work across departments to collate information and drawings Be part of a team dedicated to delivering projects to plan and budget What will you bring to the role? A minimum of a HNC qualification in Mechanical, Software/Controls or Electrical Engineering Technical writing experience within an engineering environment Knowledge and understanding of machinery directives and CE compliant documentation Ability to understand and interpret mechanical and electrical engineering drawings An understanding of drawing release and change control processes Familiar with CAD systems Proficient with MS Office, particularly Word Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and data accuracy Effective interpersonal relationship skills to create a positive and productive team-oriented environment with all departments A proactive and flexible approach to work and be comfortable with a dynamic environment with constantly changing priorities The ability to work on your own initiative What We Expect From You A proactive can-do attitude.
