Responsibilities:
* Define and own the architecture for applications and services across the end-to-end commodities trade lifecycle.
* Lead the design of integrations between ETRM platforms and surrounding systems, establishing scalable patterns and standards utilizing technologies such as Java, messaging frameworks, and enterprise data platforms.
* Architect robust data flows and integration frameworks, including mapping, transformations, validations, and exception handling, ensuring data accuracy, lineage, and control.
* Partner with Trading, Risk, Scheduling, Settlements, and Accounting stakeholders to translate business strategy and requirements into scalable, future-state technical architectures and roadmaps.
* Provide architectural oversight for production platforms, guiding incident response, root cause analysis, and the implementation of long-term, systemic solutions.
* Establish and drive best practices for operational resiliency, including monitoring, alerting, automated controls, reconciliation frameworks, and reprocessing capabilities.
* Govern architecture decisions with a focus on performance, scalability, maintainability, security, and cost efficiency.
* Lead design reviews and provide technical direction to engineering teams, promoting strong engineering standards, reusable patterns, and consistent integration approaches.
* Drive adoption of modern SDLC and platform engineering practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, environment strategy, and release governance.
* Oversee and coordinate delivery across global and offshore development teams, ensuring alignment to architecture standards and high-quality execution.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
* 10+ years of experience delivering ETRM solutions and architecture within a commodity trading environment.
* Proven experience leading architecture for complex, front-to-back trading ecosystems, including integration across multiple platforms and business domains.
* Strong experience working with US-based leadership and global, distributed engineering teams, including offshore delivery models.
* Demonstrated ability to engage senior business stakeholders and translate strategic objectives into technical architecture and execution roadmaps.
* Experience with full-scale ETRM platforms. Triple Point (TPT) CommodityXL (CXL) nice to have.
* Experience integrating with commodity exchanges (ICE, CME, NYMEX).
* Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, including architecture patterns and migration strategies.
* Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and high-intensity environment, with strong ownership and responsiveness.
