PAU Run & Ride are looking to recruit an experienced Retail Sales Assistant to support the team at our flagship store in Trentham, Stoke on Trent.
If you're a regular runner and/or cyclist who's actively involved in your local running/cycling community, you may well be our ideal candidate To be perfect for the role, you'll also have a mature demeanor and be confident talking to customers about their running preferences and able to match that to our product range. If you've also got experience undertaking gait analysis that'd be fantastic (we can train you on that part though)
Job Details:
This is a part time role of 24 hours per week over three days, which will inevitably involve regular weekend working, with additional capacity from time to time for additional hours to support events, staff holidays, etc.
Annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks per annum (inclusive of bank holidays).
Salary Expectations:
Hourly rate in line with National Minimum/Living Wage (currently maximum £12.21/hr).
Responsibilities and Duties
As a member of our retail sales team, after training, you'll need to demonstrate:
* Customer Service: Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner. Provide expert advice on running and cycling products (including gait analysis).
* Sales Success: Drive sales by understanding customer needs and recommending suitable products. Collaborate with the team to achieve individual and store sales targets.
* Product Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest running and cycling equipment and accessories. Attend training sessions as required.
* Inventory Management: Assist with stock management, including receiving, unpacking, and organizing merchandise. Conduct regular inventory checks.
* Store Presentation: Taking pride in ensuring that our store is clean, organized, and visually appealing. You'll also be involved in the set up and maintenance of our product displays and promotional materials.
* Cash Handling: Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system. Handle returns and exchanges in accordance with store policies.
* Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members to achieve store goals. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience: An established runner with previous retail experience, preferably in a sports or outdoor equipment store.
* Knowledge: A passion for running (ideally, cycling too). Knowledge of undertaking gait analysis (although full training will be given), and an understanding of the different clothing and shoe styles and brands is a plus.
* Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (and we mean AWESOME communication skills). Ability to engage with customers and commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
* Physical Ability: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move merchandise as needed.
* Flexibility: Availability to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts. Our store is open all year round and we also operate pop up shops at local running and cycling events
