Main duties of the job

Our focus is on preventive and early intervention, ensuring that our services are child, young person, and family-centred, always listening to and responding to their voices.
As a SEND Lead Worker, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and facilitating the Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment and/or overseeing the review and monitoring process of Education, Health, and Care plans (EHCP). Your responsibilities will include efficiently managing administrative functions within these statutory processes and meeting crucial statutory deadlines.
In this role, you will identify when specialist involvement is necessary and establish the appropriate contacts. Additionally, you will be based at a locality hub for at least one day a week.
We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals who are highly organised and possess extensive experience working in partnership with children, young people, and their families, particularly those with SEND. You must hold a minimum of a level 4 recognised qualification and have at least two years of experience in early years, social care, health, or education.

Person Specification
Experience
* Knowledge of current & developing national policy in relation to children's services, e.g.,
* Evidence of continuous professional development and/or training.
* Recognised qualification in early years, social care, health, or education to a minimum of level 4, or willingness to work towards one soon.
* Experience supporting children, young people, and families with SEND.
* Experience coordinating multi-professional meetings.
* Extensive experience working in partnership with children, young people, and their families, especially those with SEND.
* Ability to establish trusting relationships with children or young people and their families.
* Ability to empower children, young people, and families to make decisions.
* Experience supporting and advising settings and practitioners.
Enabling characteristics
* Good team player with the ability to work independently, prioritising tasks effectively.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Knowledge of relevant current legislation and frameworks.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Previous experience in health, social care, or education environments.
Qualifications
* HNC or equivalent experience/skills.
* ITQ Level 2 or equivalent skills.
* Willingness to work towards relevant professional qualifications.
