Robert Half is pleased to partner with a dynamic organization based in Wallingford to recruit a Corporate Accountant for a 16-18 month MAT cover.
The Corporate Accountant will receive a salary of up to £55,000, along with attractive benefits including hybrid remote working. You will only need to be in the office 1 day a week!
Primary responsibilities
1. Run monthly toolkit (P&L) reviews with Heads of Departments and ensure adjustments are processed accordingly. Update Excel-based reconciliation/support packs for all Balance Sheet accounts.
2. Complete disclosures for the Corporate Head Office where necessary.
3. Identify and investigate variances against forecasts, ensuring missing costs are accrued where necessary.
4. Ensure Corporate Head Office transactional work is completed by relevant team members. Develop and review processes, policies, and controls to optimize efficiency and safeguard the business.
5. Support the end-to-end audit process with auditors, ensuring all internal and external statutory deadlines are met, including planning and review.
6. Prepare supporting disclosure schedules for the group and individual entities as required.
7. Coordinate the Finance team (Divisional Finance Managers, Management Accountants, Transactional and Credit Control staff) to meet audit deadlines.
8. Liaise with auditors on progress, issues, and process improvements.
Key experience and attributes
1. Qualified accountant / qualified by experience or studying towards a qualification.
2. Commercial acumen and financial analysis skills.
3. Excellent IT skills, including high proficiency in Excel.
4. Previous experience in a consolidated audit is advantageous.
5. Experience with Microsoft Great Plains, F&O Dynamics is advantageous.
6. Highly organized and methodical.
7. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Solution-focused with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
9. Persistent and resilient under pressure.
10. Accurate, with high attention to detail.
