Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading multidisciplinary consultancy in their search for a Senior Town Planner to join their team in Leeds.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Planner to take the next step in their career, working across a diverse portfolio of projects including residential, commercial, rural, and infrastructure developments. The successful candidate will play a key role in project delivery while contributing to the continued growth of the team.
THE ROLE
As a Senior Town Planner, you will take responsibility for managing a range of planning projects from initial concept through to determination.
You will lead on client interactions, provide strategic planning advice, and support junior team members, all while working within a collaborative and dynamic environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leading and managing planning applications and projects Providing strategic planning advice to clients Preparing high-quality planning reports and documentation Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key stakeholders Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team Contributing to business development and identifying new opportunities Attending meetings, site visits, and consultations
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline MRTPI qualified Significant experience within a planning consultancy or similar environment Strong knowledge of the UK planning system Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills Proven ability to manage projects and client relationships * Commercial awareness and a proactive approach
