Location: Bolton
Salary: Up to £31,000 per annum + excellent performance-related bonus
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Hours: Rotating shifts – 10:00–18:00 and 11:00–19:00

We’re looking for a Customs Clerk to join a leading Customs Specialist team, focusing on Irish trade movements. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with some exposure to logistics or strong administrative/data skills who wants to develop in a specialist, fast-paced environment.
No customs experience? That’s absolutely fine.
We provide full training — we’re looking for the right attitude, attention to detail, and willingness to learn. If you can follow processes, work accurately, and pick things up quickly, we want to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing
Processing customs declarations (import, export, and transit) for Irish road freight movements
Ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with HMRC and relevant EU/Ireland customs requirements
Using internal and external systems to input, validate, and manage shipment data
Communicating with clients, hauliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth clearance across Irish routes
Supporting the wider customs team in maintaining high levels of service and compliance What we’re looking for?
Some experience in logistics, freight, administration, or a data-driven role (not essential)
Strong IT skills and confidence working with systems and data entry
A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt quickly
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
