We are currently in the market to recruit multiple Principal Process Engineers (Water) for a variety of major long-term frameworks across the UK.
In addition to a range of long-term programmes across the UK water industry RPS, and Tetra Tech, have successfully won a £100 million single-award framework from United Utilities to support the improvement of river health across the Northwest of England.

About The Team
RPS Water Consulting is a team of Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts providing Asset Management and Operational Strategy development, to our Water Industry clients to support business planning and delivery. This is an evolving industry, providing challenges and opportunities that require innovation, dedication, and teamwork to help us meet our clients’ needs.
In addition to the United Utilities framework, we also work with several major water companies across the UK, having a broad portfolio of long-term framework agreements in place.
Our Water Consultancy business has a range of prestigious AMP8 programmes leading into AMP9 and beyond, where you’ll be securing your career for the next 20 years, leaving a lasting legacy!
About You
Responsibilities include handling the technical delivery of projects, monitoring the budget, meeting deadlines, and ensuring quality standards, all while aiming to exceed client expectations.
Your Responsibilities
* Demonstrated ability to operate both independently and as part of a team, encompassing tasks such as production, verification, review, or approval of raw water envelope, influent characterises, process performance reports, process outline design calculations, PFD’s, equipment specifications, process control philosophies, technical reports and schematics.
* Leadership in providing process optimisation and advisory services for new and existing water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, and associated infrastructure.
* Technical Process oversight and delivery of multi-disciplinary projects, taking on the role of Process Design Lead as assigned, utilising and developing cutting-edge digital design methodologies.
* I dentification and cultivation of innovative and optimised technical solutions aligned with client requirements and objectives. Including collaboration with our laboratories on chemical analysis and leading edge solutions and collaboration with our software teams to develop new process optimisation tools for our clients.
* Coordination and leadership of collaborative efforts within multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., process, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and ICA).
* Establishment and nurturing of relationships with clients and partners in capital alliances, addressing project technical, commercial, and progress-related matters.
* Ensuring projects adhere to requisite technical, legislative, quality, safety, and environmental standards and objectives.
* Acting as a mentor and technical supervisor for other team members.
* Overseeing line management and performance development responsibilities for designated staff.
* Facilitating the capture of critical project and technical knowledge, including innovative approaches.
* Advocacy for the capability and accomplishments of the Process team, both internally (UK and Globally) and externally (Supply Chain Partners).
Skills, Knowledge And Experience
* Extensive expertise in the technical execution of process plant systems within intricate water industry engineering ventures.
* Proficiency in participating in design and construction initiatives utilising digital design methodologies.
* D emonstrated leadership skills, fostering a collaborative environment within teams.
* Substantial experience in the water and/or wastewater sectors.
Qualifications
* P referably degree qualified in Chemical Engineering or a relevant technical subject. Postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
* Chartered or working towards chartership
* Affiliation with a professional institution like IChemE or CIWEM, or in the process of working towards membership and nearing application.
