East Riding Museums Service is seeking to recruit a creative and friendly person to join our team.
The post holder will work as a casual attendant at Beverley Art Gallery and Treasure House, covering gaps in the existing rota, as well as cover for annual leave and sickness absence. Further details will be provided if you are shortlisted.
The postholder may also be asked to work on Saturdays and occasional evenings. The role's focus is to deliver first-class visitor services. You will maintain a safe and secure environment by invigilation, reporting issues to your line manager or other services in the Champney Treasure House, and providing a welcoming atmosphere.
The successful candidate will have relevant knowledge and background experience, with a proven ability to work in a customer-facing role, demonstrating friendliness and an upbeat attitude. An ability to deliver an outstanding customer experience is essential.
You may also need to handle unexpected situations effectively.
Excellent communication and IT skills are essential. Good self-motivation and organizational skills are also key, along with the ability to handle telephone, email, and in-person enquiries.
Responsibilities include assisting with exhibition changeovers, new collection displays, exhibition openings, and special events. You will also support the Learning team by assisting with educational activities and events.
East Riding Museums is a member of The Humber Museums Partnership, which was awarded Major Partner Museums Status in 2015 and National Portfolio Organisation Status in 2018.
