This is temporary post to cover maternity.
We are seeking to appoint a suitably skilled, motivated and caring Assistant Manager to work with children and young people in our two bed children’s home. Candidates will have significant experience of working in a relevant setting for children and young people, experience of preparing, implementing and reviewing care plans for children.
There are times when children and young people in care require additional support to manage complex trauma they have suffered.
Placements of a warm, homely and supportive environment are hard to find, and this can result in multiple placement breakdowns before a suitable placement that can contain risk and manage social and emotional needs is found. The result of this leads to young people who are most vulnerable being placed a long way from home and not always achieving the best outcomes.
The successful candidate should have the ability to:
1. Relate and communicate to a wide spectrum of people, which includes children and young people, their carers and other professionals.
2. Work in a therapeutic manner.
3. Good experience of contributing to the support and supervision of staff.
4. Demonstrate literacy and numeracy skills to maintain records and prepare reports.
5. Assess needs and draw up and implement appropriate care plans in conjunction with partner agencies.
6. Have high emotional resilience
7. Work and take appropriate decision when under pressure.
8. You will hold a NVQ3 / Diploma in Caring for Children and Young People.
9. Effective supervision, Induction and good training are provided to all staff.
10. The work involves shift patterns, including weekends and Bank Holidays.
