Our Civil Enforcement Officers (CEOs) are, first and foremost, a uniformed point of contact for visitors and residents. They act as ambassadors for the council, helping with directions to local landmarks, answering questions about the area, and providing parking advice. They help improve traffic management and create a safer, more pleasant environment in Cheshire West & Chester by enforcing Traffic Regulation Orders, parking regulations, and restrictions on and off-street.

You will provide outstanding customer care within a high-profile, vital council service that supports residents, businesses, and visitors, playing a key role in reducing traffic congestion and improving air quality through parking enforcement.
Some of What You’ll Be Doing:
* Undertaking patrols and inspections to enforce all on-street and off-street parking offences.
* Maintaining records (currently via handheld device), completing reports, and responding to service radio messages as directed.
* Reporting and acting on offences related to Taxi/Hire Car Licences, and defects in signs, lines, and street furniture.
* Advising the public on minor parking enquiries and matters according to customer care policies.
* Inspecting Pay and Display machines for functionality and reporting faults.
* Issuing PCNs to vehicles parked in contravention of regulations.
You Should Apply If:
* You hold a UK driving licence for category C (car).
* You are friendly, polite, and willing to support colleagues and customers.
* You are physically fit, able to walk several miles per day, and can carry equipment weighing approximately lb/kg in all weather conditions.
* You can accurately record and reproduce information using various IT equipment.
* You can deal politely and tactfully with a wide range of people, including confrontational members of the public.
* You can read and follow procedures, establish facts, and take appropriate action within guidelines.
* You are comfortable using equipment such as handheld computers, radios, mobile phones, body-worn cameras, and ANPR cameras to record violations.
