As our Compliance Manager, you'll blend your understanding of human behavior with compliance strategies. Your mission? Support the business in ensuring we do the best for our customers, focusing on their outcomes and ways to avoid harm. Your role involves interpreting regulations, creating safeguarding methods, and making them understandable for front-line staff. You'll streamline processes and engage in conversations to support our first line in ‘getting it right first time’.
Reporting to the Executive Director of GRC, your remit covers compliance, quality assurance, complaint resolution, and enhancing the competence of non-advised agents, including adherence to distance selling regulations.
As a Compliance Manager, you will:
1. Spearhead and manage the GRC strategy across the organization.
2. Stay updated on regulations related to non-advised selling in financial services and alert the SLT early.
3. Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policies.
4. Oversee quality assurance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, support, and coaching.
5. Handle complaints effectively to maintain customer satisfaction and analyze trends and root causes.
6. Promote ongoing learning and training related to relevant regulations.
7. Engage in horizon scanning to identify future risks and opportunities.
8. Build strong relationships with insurers and regulatory bodies, fostering collaboration.
9. Ensure accurate and timely regulatory returns.
10. Champion a compliance culture that safeguards and adds value to the business.
What We’re Looking for:
1. Experience in a GRC role within financial services, preferably non-advised (not essential).
2. Deep understanding of non-advised selling regulations in financial services.
3. Proven success in operationalizing strategies.
4. Strong background in risk management, compliance, quality assurance, and complaint handling.
5. Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship skills.
6. Data analysis and decision-making abilities.
7. Experience with horizon scanning and trend forecasting.
8. Effective liaising with insurers and regulatory bodies, including regulatory reporting.
9. People and process management skills.
10. A proactive, pragmatic, and innovative risk management approach.
11. Ability to learn quickly, adapt, and start contributing immediately.
