The Directors are seeking to appoint an experienced Factory Manager to join our
growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the
production team, stores man and production processes and ensuring targets are met, staff are motivated and resources are in place to achieve the agreed production output. This role
also involves being a responsible person on site for all matters relating to Health &
Safety.
Duties to include:
* Plan the production schedule in liaison with the Directors to achieve the desired
production output and quality goals
* Manage staffing resources including recruitment and selection with support
from the Directors
* Manage tool resources and requirements, liaising with suppliers
* Monitor and maintain the quality standards with support from the Directors
* Monitor the production processes and ensure works procedures are fulfilled
* Report the repair of any damaged equipment
* Complete production related paperwork
* Liaise with different departments to meet the overall needs of the business
* Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed at all times (be a member of the Health and Safety committee).
Ensure that the production processes and environment are safe
* Ensure customer orders are completed on time and that quality standards and
targets are met
* Liaise with the office staff to schedule haulage requirements
* Liaise with the office staff to schedule sub-contractors (i.e. electrical testing and
plumbing works and testing)
* Work with Director to implement the company's policies and goals
* Supervise and motivate a team of production workers. Provide line management
to all members (except Directors) including stores staff
* Review worker performance and identify training needs in liaison with the
Directors
* Liaise with the supply chain for time critical supply items, communicate
effectively with Directors ensuring minimal delays / disruption to production
targets
* Provide daily (end of day) updates to the Directors
Responsible for opening and securing the factory daily (appointed key holder).
The successful candidate will be highly organised, a good leader, team player and able to use own initiative. Experience in a similar role is essential. CVs to in the first instance.
This is a full time permanent position and hours of work are Monday to Thursday 7am to 5.30pm.
