Renfrewshire Council is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Events and Community Engagement Officer to join our events team. The role involves supporting the delivery of a diverse portfolio of events and projects across Renfrewshire.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing and maintaining relationships with local cultural and community groups to create a vibrant cultural calendar in Renfrewshire's town centres. Additionally, the role includes delivering council-led events.
Essential qualifications and experience include:
1. Recent relevant experience working with volunteers in a community engagement setting.
2. Management skills within the cultural, community, and volunteering sectors.
3. Experience working in a live events environment, including programming, delivery, and project management of large-scale public events.
4. Effective communication skills and organisational abilities.
5. Knowledge of health and safety legislation related to events.
6. A positive 'can-do' attitude, ability to work under pressure, and self-motivation.
Desirable skills and experience include:
1. Experience managing project budgets and accessing cultural funding.
2. Knowledge of working within a local authority environment and understanding key issues affecting service delivery.
3. Ability to identify and measure outcome-focused activities related to event delivery.
The role requires a flexible approach, including some evening or weekend work across various locations in Renfrewshire. Please note that this is a temporary position, funded for 24 months or until the role's requirements cease.
