Technical Training Lead-Water And Air


Reports To: Head Of Operations (Primary) Learning And Development Manager (Secondary)

Dept/ Function: Operations

Based At: Alcester Office, with field based travel as required.


Role Overview:


* This role is vital in the expansion of our business. The Technical Training Lead-Water and Air is accountable for ensuring the competence of our operational colleagues by implementing, and evaluating robust training programs focused on technical skills and knowledge which are executed to industry standard.
* This role requires deep understanding of Rock Compliance technical concepts processes and procedures alongside the ability to translate complex topics into engaging and comprehensible training and upskilling .
* This position plays a crucial role in enhancing and ensuring workforce competence, fostering continuous improvement, and aligning with the Rock's Strategic objectives of being the Best National Provider, Most Successful in our Sector and the Best Place to Work.


Operational Training Program Development:

* Support design and develop engaging technical and robust training programs that cater to various technical skills, incorporating adult learning principles and innovative instructional methods.
* Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure operational training content is accurate, comprehensive, and relevant to current and evolving industry standards.


Delivery of Operational Training Sessions:

* Conduct operational training and upskilling initiatives for operational colleagues ensuring material is delivered in an engaging and effective manner.
* Utilise various training delivery methods including in-person, virtual, and blended approaches to meet varied learner needs a cross a dispersed workforce.


Assessment and Evaluation:

* Support the development of robust assessments and action assessments to measure the effectiveness of training programs
* Analyse training outcomes and feedback to continuously improve programs and address skill gaps within the operational teams.


Operational Learning Management System (LMS) Management:


* Work alongside the L&D manager and IT/Ops teams to ensure an appropriate LMS system is selected to support operational business and learner needs (short term)
* Support ops and IT teams to migrate legacy data to any new systems effectively (short term)
* Maintain and update operational training materials and in the LMS, ensuring accessibility for all employees.
* Ensure all operational training components by colleague are validated and stored effectively and audit and legally compliant
* Liaise with Ops team and onboarding to ensure all new starters are receiving all induction training to standard and that this is recorded
* Act as a conduit between training and ops to ensure EPIC is aware of engineer's skills and qualifications


Collaboration and Reporting:


* Run and prepare reports on operational training activities and KPIs.

* Previous relevant engineer experience at a senior level ideally within a similar business
* Demonstrable track record of delivering high standards and results
* Proven high standards of engagement and service
