Senior Quality Engineer (Process & Systems Focus) Weston Supermare BS24 Permanent We are working with a well-established global manufacturing business supplying high-quality components into the automotive sector is seeking to appoint a Senior Quality Engineer to support ongoing growth and continuous improvement across its UK manufacturing operations. Benefits: Competitive salary of up to £45,000 dependent on experience Hours 07:30 – 16:00 / 08:00 – 16:30 Monday to Thursday 07:30 – 16:30 on working Fridays. 9 day working fortnight (every other Friday off) Sick pay 13 weeks at full pay, then 13 weeks half pay. 3% stakeholder employer pension contributions. Factory shutdown in August – two weeks and a week at Christmas. Leaving circa two weeks to book at any time during the year. Free onsite parking Role responsibilities: Support the QHSE Compliance Manager in maintaining and improving the Quality Management System in line with IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Analyse quality data and production outputs to identify recurring faults, trends and process weaknesses, implementing corrective and preventative actions. Lead and support root cause investigations using recognised quality tools (e.g. 8D, problem-solving methodologies). Review and improve procedures, policies and work instructions to prevent repeat issues and strengthen process control. Carry out and support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance, audit readiness and continuous improvement. Oversee calibration activities, quality reporting and daily performance metrics. Act as a visible quality presence within production, including leading daily toolbox talks and engaging confidently with operators. Work with Engineering to interpret technical drawings and design intent, supporting effective communication between production and design teams. Support NPI and process development activities, ensuring quality considerations are embedded from the outset. Utilise QMS systems effectively; experience with ERP / MRP / SAP systems is desirable. Contribute to improvements in material flow, process efficiency and manufacturing performance. Essential skills & experience: Proven experience in a manufacturing quality or process-focused role within automotive, aerospace, medical device or similar regulated environments. Strong understanding of quality tools, auditing and quality systems, rather than purely product inspection. Ability to read and understand technical drawings, with enough confidence to communicate design intent and process improvements. Experience working within structured QMS environments (IATF 16949 highly desirable). Confident communicator, comfortable leading discussions with production teams and stakeholders.
