We are looking for a Senior Structures Technician to support our structures and pavements department in Leicester.
Day to day you will be carrying out specialist in-situ testing, inspections and sampling of Structures and Pavements. This can involve working in an array of Listed Bridges, Iconic Buildings and pavement surveys to several National Highway assets. As part of your role at CTS, you will be provided with external training for working at height, confined spaces, and enrolled into appropriate Health and Safety courses.
As the role is working within a site team it is key that you are a good team player that can work well with other members of the team as well as an individual. Some of the areas we work in can be difficult so we would be looking for someone that is forward thinking and is motivated to get the work done in a correct and safe manor.
Core Responsibilities
· Carrying out site testing, inspections, and sampling
· Responsibility for facilitating site works on specific projects
· Assisted mentoring of site technicians, and training of technicians as requested
· Ensuring that all test records submitted by the site team are complete and accurate and QC checked before handing them to the Project Manager.
· Review of incoming client instructions and inclusion of these into the contract review and put in place any required actions.
· Checking that equipment to be used is within calibration, functioning properly and fit for use
· Identification of any health and safety concerns to supervisor or senior site representative, and completing on-site Dynamic Risk Assessments as appropriate
· Ensuring work environment is maintained to suitable standard including cleaning and tidying
· Ensuring site sampling and testing is carried out to high standards of safety, quality and efficiency
· Ensuring test equipment is checked, cleaned, calibrated, and functioning properly
· Having a professional persona when representing the company on site with clients and suppliers

· CSCS Card (Essential) however if you do not hold an up to date CSCS card, CTS Group will organise for you to attend a CSCS test.
· SSSTS (Essential) however if you do not hold an up to date SSSTS, CTS Group will organise for you to attend the course.

Job specifics
Monday - Friday 40 hours, regular weekend/night work to be expected. Our projects can vary in locations and scale, so it will be expected that you stay away from home for different time scales depending on the project in hand. Your office base will be in Leicester but travel nationwide is required for the role.
