CONSULTANT IN GENERAL ADULT (IN-PATIENT) PSYCHIATRY
The Dales, Ashdale Ward, Calderdale Royal Hospital, Halifax HX3 OPW
Permanent, full time, 10 Programmed Activities per week plus on-call(part time may be considered)
South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust are recruiting for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Ashdale Ward based at The Dales, Calderdale Royal Hospital, Halifax HX3 OPW. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our patients receive the care that they need and will be an integral role within the Calderdale and Kirklees Acute Pathway. This post has two additional sessions offered which will be reviewed every year.

Main duties of the job
As a senior member of the team, you will have an excellent opportunity to help shape our services and drive change within the organisation and you will be well supported by the senior leadership team. You will be employed under the Consultant Terms and Conditions with a salary within this payscale. In addition, our Trust grants an additional two days annual leave to Consultants with 7 years or more NHS experience at Consultant grade.

Person Specification
Physical Attributes
* Smart professional appearance.
* Fully registered with the GMC and have a licence to practise or must have checked GMC eligibility and commenced the application process at the time of NHS jobs application.
* Included on the GMC Specialist Register for General Psychiatry, or within six months of gaining CCT.
* Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within three months of appointment.
* In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.

Transport
* Holds and able to use valid UK driving licence.
Experience
* Excellent knowledge in specialty.
* Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
* Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
* Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others.
* Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA.
* Able to provide clinical leadership to a multi-professional team and liaise with a wide variety of agencies.
