Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Fixed Asset Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and supporting the organisation’s financial health. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your expertise in SAP accounting software and financial management practices within a dynamic environment. The ideal applicant will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting systems, and a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.

Responsibilities
* Recording and maintaining asset data - They keep a detailed register of all fixed assets, when they were purchased, how much they cost, where they’re located, and their expected useful life.
* Depreciation calculations They calculate how assets lose value over time using methods like straight-line or reducing balance. This feeds into financial statements and affects profit reporting.
* Capitalization vs expense decisions They decide whether a purchase should be treated as an asset (capitalized) or as an expense. This requires applying accounting standards and company policy.
* Asset lifecycle management From acquisition → usage → disposal. They track transfers, upgrades, impairments, and eventual sale or scrapping of assets.
* Reconciliations and reporting They reconcile the fixed asset register with the general ledger and prepare reports for audits, month-end, and year-end financials.
* Compliance and audits They ensure everything follows accounting rules (like IFRS or GAAP) and support internal/external audits by providing documentation.
* Physical verification In some roles, they help coordinate or review periodic checks to confirm assets actually exist and are in the recorded condition/location.
